Composites arrow Back to applications

A polymer composite consists of a resin and substrate which when combined potentially gives an improvement to a variety of both physical and chemical properties. Lawrence Industries has the technical expertise and know-how to assist in the selection of the right additives from the extensive range available. The support we have from our long-standing Principals enables us to provide rapid sample selection and despatch to your door. The main areas of interest regarding polymer composites that we are active in are:

  • Polyester Resins - where we supply a range of fumed silica, ceramic microspheres, glass micro bubbles, pitch based carbon fibres, silicon carbide fibres, special effect pigments, metallic pigments, mineral fillers such as mica, wollastonite, quartz, silica flour and fused silica - all of these available with a silane treatment.
  • Epoxy resins - where we supply a range of fumed silica, ceramic microspheres, sulphide resins, glass bubbles, pitch based carbon fibres, silicon carbide fibres, special effect pigments, metallic pigments, minerals such as mica, wollastonite, quartz, silica flour & fused silica - all of these available with a silane treatment.
  • Nanocomposites - fumed silica, fumed metal oxides.

Additives for Recycled Thermoplastics

Thermoplastics are fantastic engineering materials. They are low cost, lightweight, easy to process and provide excellent durability. It’s no surprise therefore that thermoplastics are omnipresent in our lives, with the average European citizen consuming on average 50 kg per year. High time then to scrutinise thermoplastics from a sustainability standpoint.
