Join our team as an Office Assistant

Lawrence Industries is a highly successful and growing chemical distributor. We're looking for an Office Assistant to join our team to support our continued growth.  We have an excellent track record of training school leavers and recent university graduates and the below role is equally suitable for candidates at the beginning of their career as well as people with experience.  

 

Location: Tamworth (Staffordshire)

Salary: from £18K (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00

 

The Role

Reporting to the Office Manager and supporting the Technical Sales Team, this role offers a varied and exciting opportunity to get involved in the day to day running of a busy commercial office. This position has a broad remit, spanning administration, sample preparation, regulatory enquiries, IT support, analytical reporting and social media management. We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to take ownership of these duties and the successful candidate would receive extensive training in all aspects of office & business administration.

 

Key Duties would include

  • Supporting the Office Manager with administrative duties as required including preparation of presentations, reports and spreadsheets
  • Supporting the Technical Sales Team with sample preparation and communication to customers
  • Responding to incoming enquiries and fielding them to the appropriate member of the team
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers to answer regulatory queries
  • Maintaining and updating internal CRM and administration systems
  • Working closely with the marketing team to manage company social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) and preparation of marketing materials

Other duties could form part of this role depending on the strengths of the candidate and their desire to support more areas of the business.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • have strong IT skills and be equally comfortable drafting formal letters and communication in Word, building slides in PowerPoint or creating spreadsheets for data capture/presentation in Excel
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills - capable of being credible and approachable at all levels of a business
  • have a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work under their own initiative
  • be highly organised – someone who can manage their time effectively and prioritise projects
  • be eager to learn and develop new skills
