Silsan® Binders

Product Overview

Aqueous Silsan® silicone resin binders are used in the formulation of silicone resin paints and plasters as a co-binder, in order to combine the positive properties of inorganic silicones with synthetic organic resins. Due to Silsan® having a predominantly inorganic and hydrophobic character, it provides excellent compatibility with mineral substrates, low water absorption and a high water vapour permeability. The latter is due to the open microporous structure formed during film formation with an organic co-binder. Furthermore, they have good weather and UV light stability and a naturally matt finish. High-performance fire-resistant coatings can also be formulated with products from this range.
