Product Overview

Silanes and siloxanes are useful tools in the hydrophobisation (water repellence and durability) of construction materials and facade coatings. These surfaces require a durable solution whilst not affecting their appearance. 

Many construction materials are delivered in dry form and diluted with water shortly before application. The addition of liquid water repellents at this point would be time-consuming and a potential source of error. Ideally, the dry mixed material should already contain the water repellent. This is the purpose of our range of Silsan® impregnating powders, which are comprised of silicone water repellents on a powder carrier. Once diluted with water and applied they develop their water-repellent effect in the construction material without reducing its water vapour permeability.
