Galaxy® is a holographic effect pigment for Cosmetic, Polymer and Coating applications which is based on an acrylic polymer and aluminum and is extremely reflective resulting in a unique polychromatic effect even at low dosages.
In Cosmetic applications, Galaxy® provides a dramatic holographic effect in powders and nail polishes and lends itself especially to UV gel polishes. In Paint and Coating applications, Galaxy® Hologram Silver M is particularly well suited to spray and powder coats where the 3 micron thick particles can be used to create glittering polychromatic effects in thin films. In Plastics, Galaxy® is suitable for use in various types of polymers such as PVC, PE, PC, PMMA, PS, ABS and PP, and has broad compliance with regulations including food contact applications.
Galaxy® Hologram Silver M is stable in both water- and solvent-based formulations, is temperature stable up to 400°C, and is stable to UV light. The flakes have a particle size distribution of 20 – 150 micron and a D50 of approximately 75 micron.
