Acrylic Emulsion Polymer for Wood Coatings

Someone painting a wood door frame

Product Overview

The Laicril W range consists of a range of acrylic copolymers which include modern core shell and self crosslinking technologies.

Polymers are available which due to their low MFFT, allow for the formulation of low VOC coatings for wood whether it be for exterior or interior applications.

The self crosslinking features contribute to the overall  mechanical resilience of the polymer in coatings formulations and also impart chemical resistance and anti-blocking properties.

The Laicril W grades for exterior wood coatings are further characterised by a fine particle size for penetration of the wood and also by good elastic properties to compensate for expansion/ contraction of wood substrates in an outdoors environment.

Hydroxyl functional grades are also available where crosslinking with isocyanates for example is required for very demanding applications.
