Inside the Mix – Understanding additives in 3D printed concrete
3D printed concrete offers the potential for quick sustainable construction
Lawrence Industries is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Georg LUH, a leading German supplier specialising in high-performance natural graphite and expandable graphite products. This collaboration enables us to provide the UK market with access to advanced graphite technologies for use in diverse industries such as coatings, polymers, composites, and flame retardants.
Founded in 1933, Georg LUH has built a reputation across Europe for delivering premium graphite tailored to the needs of technical and industrial applications.
Natural graphite from LUH is known for its non-toxic, chemically stable, and pure carbon composition, making it ideal as a solid lubricant additive, for heat management, and in refractory and foundry applications.
Expandable graphite, meanwhile, provides the highest fire protection standards without halogens and is widely used in sustainable flame retardant systems for composites, coatings, plastics, and masterbatches. When exposed to heat, expandable graphite flakes expand to many times their original volume, delivering effective flame suppression even in technical polymers and composite systems.

For more information on the LUH range of natural and expandable graphite, or to request a sample and discuss your specific requirements, contact Lawrence Industries’ technical team. As with all our partnerships, we look forward to supporting innovation and enhancing performance across the coatings, polymers and composite markets.

Expandable graphite and Quarzwerke minerals can be used to enhance flame-retardant systems for EV safety.
High Temperature Expandable Graphite from LUH is able to be used in thermoplastics without expanding during the extrusion process.
